2. why we use information

  • Provide accounts, discovery, matching, group coordination, messaging, communities, listings, payments, membership, support, and requested features.
  • Display user- and organizer-supplied Content and recommend Plans, Communities, and Events based on location, interests, activity, and settings.
  • Review creator applications and administer Platform access. Review is for Platform eligibility and is not a safety certification or background check unless we expressly say otherwise.
  • Protect users and the Platform, enforce rules, investigate reports, prevent fraud, preserve evidence, and comply with law.
  • Process transactions, refunds, disputes, payouts, recurring-billing consent, notices, and records.
  • Analyze, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Platform; communicate about service and marketing choices where permitted.

3. disclosures

  • Other users and the public receive information you choose to make visible in profiles, Plans, Events, Communities, messages, and interactions.
  • Independent community creators may receive only the limited information described in the Creator Data Addendum and the just-in-time notice shown before submission. Creator access must be enforced server-side.
  • Independent event organizers receive information needed to administer their Event or ticket transaction, such as attendee identity, ticket status, and communications, as disclosed at checkout.
  • Service providers process information for hosting, authentication, analytics, communication, support, fraud prevention, payment processing, and similar operational purposes under applicable restrictions.
  • We may disclose information to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate fraud or abuse, complete a corporate transaction, or with your direction or consent.

4. WashedUp is a utility platform, not the organizer

Most Plans, Communities, and Events are independently created and operated. We use information to provide discovery and coordination software, not to supervise offline conduct. An organizer’s receipt or use of information is governed by the applicable notice, organizer terms, and law. WashedUp may moderate Platform access without undertaking a duty to monitor every user or activity.

5. sale, sharing, advertising, and preference signals

State privacy laws use “sell” and “share” in technical ways. WashedUp does not sell personal information for money. If advertising or analytics technology constitutes sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising under applicable law, we will provide the required notice and opt-out method and honor legally recognized preference signals where required. [CONFIRM ACTUAL AD/ANALYTICS DATA MAP BEFORE PUBLICATION.]

6. retention

We retain information for the period reasonably necessary for the purposes described, including account operation, transaction completion, fraud and safety, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and enforcement. Retention depends on the category and context. We delete or deidentify information when it is no longer reasonably necessary, subject to legal holds, security records, backups in ordinary rotation, and other lawful exceptions.

Subscription consent and transaction records. We retain a limited record of recurring-billing consent, such as an account identifier, plan and price, frequency, disclosure and terms version, consent and cancellation timestamps, and processor reference, for at least three years or one year after the subscription ends, whichever is longer. This restricted record may survive account deletion and is not used for advertising or personalization.

7. your choices and rights

  • Access, correct, delete, or update information through account tools or by contacting us.
  • Control device permissions, notifications, marketing communications, and available privacy settings.
  • California residents may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain sensitive-information use, and receive equal service, subject to applicable law and exceptions.
  • We will verify requests using information appropriate to the request. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted. We will explain appeal rights when required.

8. security, children, and international use

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no system is perfectly secure. The Platform is for adults 18 and older and is not directed to children. Do not submit information about a child unless a specifically approved flow permits it. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations used by our providers, subject to applicable safeguards.
